Working With Me
Most of my work is now done over Zoom, allowing you to engage in coaching from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a reliable internet connection, some privacy for our session, and perhaps a comforting cuppa!
I'll be in my home office, which is very private and allows me to focus completely on you. I recall when I was first training as a coach, my supervisor suggested I do some of my sessions on line... Back then, (it was pre-COVID days), I thought how ludicrous! I NEED to be in the room with my clients for the session to be successful for them! How wrong I was. I honestly now believe that it is even easier to establish a comfortable rapport on screen.
I love this quote by Nancy Kline: ‘In the quiet presence of your attention... important things can happen.... Fresh ideas can emerge; confusion can dissipate; painful feelings can subside; creativity can explode.’
Deep listening during our session allows you the space to gain clarity on the issues you bring and to move forward with confidence.

I bring all of my knowledge and experience to our sessions, including my philosophy as an Occupational Therapist (OT) and my training as a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Coaching, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
As an OT, I believe that enabling individuals to achieve their optimum occupational balance in life is the sweet spot for happiness and contentment.
In real terms, this means my mission is to help you discover and connect with the things that bring you joy. Often, ill health and/or high stress prevent this. We talk a lot about a healthy work-life balance these days… but what does that really mean for you?
I like the World Federation of OT’s updated definition:
“Occupational Therapy promotes health and wellbeing by supporting participation in meaningful occupations that people want, need, or are expected to do.” (WFOT, 2025)
What do you want or need to do in life that you’re currently unable to? This is where we start our coaching journey together…
For example, we begin by talking. I’ll ask a few gentle questions, and we’ll go from there…
I like to use EFT/Tapping alongside traditional coaching to help create a calmer and empowering mental space for us to work together.
EFT or “Tapping,” is a body–mind self-help method that is easy to learn and flexible enough to be used by anyone.
It involves tapping with the fingertips on acupuncture points on the hands, face, and body while giving focused attention to uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.
It works by reducing our fight and flight responses so that we can talk more freely about our current situation. For example, being able to acknowledge how unhappy, angry, guilty you feel is a really important part of healing, allowing you to move forward to identifying what you want instead.
When we’re willing to face negative emotions like anger, sadness, fear and guilt, while tapping (instead of trying to fight them or push them away), we can experience surprising relief.
After just a few rounds of EFT tapping, people often report feeling lighter, calmer, and able to breathe more easily.
In addition to providing relief from stress when we need it, EFT tapping can also be used therapeutically to help address the root causes of our problems and support lasting change.
Please take a look at the EFT section if you’re curious to find out more about this evidence-based approach.
Personal and Professional Development Coaching
Coaching is not about telling, teaching or advising.
The power is shared between us.
As a coach, I will listen, ask questions and reflect back what I've heard, we work together to help you to find your own solutions.
My solutions or your partner or best friends solutions are not necessarily the right ones for you. We will find yours!
We may use a blend of models and theories to deepen your understanding of self, alongside personal exploration and reflection. We may also use journal prompts if this works for you.
Together, we’ll consider the ‘what’ 'when' 'where' 'why and ‘how’ of your next steps, moving forward in a way that feels right for you.
Personalised Individual Coaching
The European Mentoring and Coaching Council, (EMCC) state that "Coaching is an art: that of helping a person or a group to develop and enhance their professional, relational and personal potential in the realisation of their projects and to take their rightful place in the relationship they have with themselves, others and their environment....
...Coaching is an approach that can also be adapted to support a team or an organisation, whatever its area of activity."
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss coaching with me, whether personally or on behalf of your team or organisation.
